SSMC is the first waferfab in Singapore to adopt a Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) abatement system

• This is over and above the statutory requirement.
• VOCs are absorbed and converted into water vapor and CO2, at harmless levels.
• Cleaner air is discharged back to the environment.

SSMC is also the first few waferfabs in Singapore to use Newater in our manufacturing processes.

• The use of reclaimed water is very significant in the conservation of the environment.
• Potable water usage is reduced by about one Olympic-sized pool everyday.
• Chemical usage has been reduced due to the ease of conversion of Newater to Ultrapure water.
