ESPROS Photonics Corporation Ltd. (ESPROS) announce, that the manufacturing process for the new generation of time-of-flight and spectral sensing chips from ESPROS Photonics has been finalized and frozen for mass production effective August 15 2017 by contract signature with TSMC. This achievement successfully completes a complex customization project conducted during the last 18 months of the future key time-of-flight sensors at SSMC, a TSMC affiliated fab.
On 20 Sep ‘17, SSMC is recognized by National Environment Agency (NEA) with EcoFriend Award for the company's outstanding contribution to the environment. Mr. Jagadish CV, CEO of SSMC who won this individual award explained SSMC’s EcoVision effort which is aimed to reduce the company’s environmental footprint; and he takes pride in leading the organization to raise the green standards; and working with the community to walk the green talk together.
May 26, 2017- SSMC is honored to receive ITE Distinguished Partner Award 2017 during the ITE’s Silver Jubilee Celebration for our contributions in enhancing the quality of teaching and learning in the NITEC in Microelectronics course. Our long standing collaborations has resulted in transfer of learning from industry to many opportunities for staff and student development. SSMC also gives talks to ITE students and management under ITE Real Leadership Programmes on people management skills. SSMC has also been recognized as the 1st ITE’s Approved Training Centre in the Electronics Sector in Singapore to offer NITEC courses for its employees as part of our SSMC University Education Upgrading Program.

Apr 27, 2017 - SSMC in the Limelight Supporting Adapt & Grow Our CEO, Mr Jagadish, has volunteered to be one of the 75 Manufacturing sector Career Advisors, to help Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians (PMET) and mid-career switchers ease into this industry. The SkillsFuture Career Advisors is an initiative under “Adapt & Grow Career Series” by Workforce Singapore (WSG) and NTUC’s Employment and Employability Institute (e2i), where a pool of industry mentors volunteers to give career advice to graduating students, jobseekers and workers and help them deepen their skills in the Manufacturing sector.
On 26 April 2017, ITE (The Institute of Technical Education) held a REAL (Reality, Enterprise, Action and Learning) Leadership session at their HQ. Mr. Jagadish CV, CEO of SSMC was invited to give a keynote presentation to an audience of 200 Leaders and Supervisors from Colleges, HQ Management Committee and Branch Committees of Staff Unions. He shared his personal journey of success and how to be inspirational for the future with “Transformational Leadership”. The meeting was a great success; the audience was captivated with his strong passion in making others successful with the leadership concept that he shared.
On 12 April 2017, Mr. Jagadish CV, CEO of SSMC was invited to speak in Ministry of Environment and Water Resources (MEWR) Sharing and Learning Session (SLing). More than 140 senior management and staff of MEWR, NEA and PUB gathered to learn from Mr. Jagadish how to “Be the best-in-class to Conserve & Preserve for the Future Generation”. In addition, he also highlighted SSMC journey of water efficiency from facility hardware to 3Rs culture, from water and energy conservation projects to community outreach initiatives.
On 3 March the WORKSHOP ON MICROELECTRONIC MANUFACTURING TRENDS 2017 was held at Institute of Technical Education College Central. Mr. Ivan Hee, VP of Business Operations of SSMC, was invited to speak to an audience of 200 participants from industries, institutes and government agencies. He talked about “Today Technology Driving Tomorrow”, highlighted microelectronics enable many areas of IoT applications. The event was very fruitful; all presentations shared reflected an exciting scene of smart nation eco-system and a vibrant future of semiconductor and microelectronics industries in Singapore.
