SSMC JOINS GLOBAL ACTIONS TO RAISE AWARNESS: WORLD WATER DAY & EARTH HOUR 2022

March was a fruitful month for SSMC’s climate actions as they participated in World Water Day (WWD) and Earth Hour. For WWD, SSMC employees were encouraged to join PUB’s NEWater online visitor centre tour to learn more about NEWater and the importance of water conservation. To further spread awareness, SSMC created fun facts about water saving on Facebook. Also, on 26 March we promoted this year’s Earth Hour theme #ShapeOurFuture by switching off the non-essential lights in the SSMC building and at homes to renew our sustainability commitment.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION WITH SSMC 2022

On 4 March, SSMC held an online celebration for International Women’s Day. It was terrific to see active participation from both women and allies. Through various activities (talk, video and quiz) the audience responded positively and took pledge of empowering women and embracing diversity. The event came to a climax when SSMC employees demonstrated solidarity by making #BreaktheBias signs, breaking gender bias and inequality.

SUPPLY CHAIN SECURITY: TRADEFIRST (PREMIUM BAND)

Once again, SSMC achieved the TradeFIRST Premium band which grants a greater facilitation for handling strategic goods (wafers, reticles and technology). With Best-in-class export control & security standards, this allows us to deliver our products securely and reliably worldwide.

SUPPLY CHAIN SECURITY: SECURE TRADE PARTNERSHIP (STP-PLUS)

SSMC received the STP-PLUS certificate from Singapore Customs to acknowledge its reputation as a reliable, low-risk trade partner in terms of supply chain security controls and business practices. As SSMC export control is trusted by local & international customs authorities, the reduced inspection or expedited clearance will help us enable our customers to achieve fast time-to-market & high quality security.

SSMC EXPANSION: KICK-START ANNEX 10 CLEANROOM PHASE 3 CONSTRUCTION

On 15 March, SSMC’s Annex 10 Cleanroom Phase 3 expansion project was officiated. It marked the commencement of the construction to increase the fab capacity to meet the rising demand from our customers. Despite challenges from the pandemic and global supply chain disruption, it will be completed on time by July 2023.

TRANSFORM Convention was held on 9 Dec 2022. 13 teams showcased their improvement and breakthrough projects. 150 employees were gathered to celebrate the success of their projects in the quest of achieving quality and innovation excellence.
