SSMC and its 30 Suppliers & Vendors Pledged to Uphold Safety at bizSAFE Ceremony 2011

SSMC organised a special event of bizSAFE Ceremony on 15th May 2011. Some 30 CEOs and top management executives of the Semiconductor suppliers, vendors and Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Council participated in the Ceremony. The highlights of the event were the Safety Pledge and Pledge Signing Ceremony which were witnessed by WSH Council executives from Ministry of Manpower of Singapore, Ms Alicia Sim and Ms Bhindo Velaayudan. A bizSAFE Level 1 CEO workshop was also included as part of the program to help SSMC's suppliers to start their bizSAFE journey.

SSMC Won Workplace Safety & Health Innovation Awards 2011 - Gold Prize

SSMC is honored to receive WSH Innovation Award 2011 recognition by the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Council of Singapore, in appreciation of SSMC’s innovation mindset and safety excellence practiced in our workplace. The competition among companies from various industries in Singapore was held on 12 May 2011. We are proud that our commitment to occupational health & safety was applauded in our winning of Gold Prize for our project titled 'Zero Lifting Injury' lead by SSMC Facility Department "Risk Free Team".

SSMC Honours 6 Companies at Supplier Day

On April 27th, 2011, SSMC announced recipients of it’s Top Suppliers and Recognition Award for 2010. These awards recognize SSMC’s top suppliers for their overall performance including quality, delivery, service support, commitment and cost competitiveness.

SSMC Makes S$23K Donation to Aid Japan Disasters' Relief Efforts

On 1st April, 2011, SSMC presented a cheque to Singapore Red Cross Society. We donated S$23,474 in response to the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami disaster relief appeal. “We show empathy, we participate and we take prompt action when the call for need arises. It is important for us to join this global cause in serving our corporate social responsibility.” Mr. Jagadish CV , CEO of SSMC.

SSMC engineers upgraded competency through Wafer Fab Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ)

On 28 March, SSMC had more than 10 graduates receiving the Wafer Fab Work skills qualification certificates from Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA). Applying the skills and knowledge gained from the training, a team of Thin Film engineers helped the company achieve an estimated US$2million in cost savings by improving their Plasma-Enhanced Chemical Vapor Disposition process. SSMC is proud to contribute its industrial know-how to the Wafer Fab WSQ framework which is a result of close collaboration among the six major players in the wafer fabrication industry in Singapore.

SSMC contributes to the Pasir Ris community in the spirit of Lunar New Year

The Pasir Ris West Lunar New Year Dinner was held on 12th February 2011. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Teo Chee Hean, graced the annual event as the Guest-of-Honour. SSMC was one of the sponsors for the celebration, which aimed to foster community cohesion amongst people in the neighborhood. DPM Teo presented a token of appreciation to Mr. Jagadish CV , CEO of SSMC, for SSMC’s active supportive and contribution to the community.

SSMC achieves five million accident free man hours

A wonderful milestone was reached when SSMC was recognized for Outstanding Safety Performance. We accomplished 5,000,000 consecutive accident free work hours in Dec 2010. This was a direct result of SSMC’s “Think Safety Think Family” philosophy which is actively supported by our employees, as well as our suppliers and vendors. With the best-in-class Safety Culture in SSMC, the company is confident that we can keep up our momentum to achieve another break through in our safety record by the end of this year.
